"Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.
Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy - the experiences that make us the most vulnerable.
Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power our light.”

A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
PERSONALISED ATTENTION FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS
Castieau Consultancy can offer you professional assistance to resolve problematic issues you are currently facing, or to achieve other goals related to your emotional and psychological wellbeing. With each practitioner that operates here having over 20 years of unique training in this field, we offer a highly experienced and professionally trained team that utilise the most current evidence-based practices, so please get in touch if you are struggling right now.
Attending therapy can be an incredibly daunting prospect. If you have never been to counselling, you may question what this means about you as an individual.
Many who attend for the first time are skeptical, and often feel a sense of internalised stigma...and may ask themselves questions such as: "Do I really need to be here?" "Shouldn't I be able to handle this myself?" "If I go, does that mean I am crazy?" These are perfectly normal questions and doubts. We can safely say that people who attend counselling are not in any way "broken" nor do they need "fixing". Therapy is a way of healing, growing, and working through life's difficult obstacles with the assistance of a professional.
Therapy is an individualised process with each client, as each client brings their own goals and issues to the table; there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach.

ABOUT BETH
HERE FOR YOU
I am here to assist you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I genuinely care about your well-being and guarantee all of my clients receive psychological services catered to their individual needs.
Since 2000, I have provided a number of specialised mental health services to clients overcoming traumatic life experiences in a wide range of settings. As an experienced clinician, I realise that there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach to helping individuals heal, grow, and make positive changes. I continue to focus on improving my practice skills and knowledge through professional development activities. I have been a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker since January 2013, when I decided to move into Private Practice work. Prior to that, I had been based in the Perth Metropolitan Area working in a range of government and non-government settings, including the public mental health system, the criminal justice system and with homeless individuals and families in supported accommodation. I delivered many offender programs in the community, and have worked extensively with addiction, criminal behaviours, and associated victim issues. In more recent times, I have worked with young people in a mental health setting as well as private practice.
Being able to offer EMDR Interventions to babies, children and teenagers is a wonderful privilege and joy for me.
I am informed by several evidence-based approaches in my clinical practice, delivering psychological counselling to individuals or groups. These include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Mindfulness; Emotion-Focused Therapy; Solution Focused Therapy; Internal Family Systems; Ego-State and Parts Work; Motivational Interviewing and other behavioural interventions to assist the process of change. I favour somatic / body based approaches to treatment because as is so often quoted "the body keeps the score". We cannot argue with how we feel; we have to resolve feelings through our physical self with the guidance and the assistance of trained professionals.
Since 2017 I have been trained, and continue to develop my skills in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) by not only attendance at training, but ongoing consultancy with world-renowned experts and practitioners to assist me to master this approach and I have been an Accredited Practitioner with EMDRAA since 2022. In 2024 I am working towards becoming an EMDR Consultant with EMDRAA so I can assist other therapists in their professional development. I have also recently completed Level 1 of Deep Brain Reorientation (DBR) training and intend to continue to learn more about this embodied approach to healing.
At Castieau Consultancy, your well-being is my number one priority, and I go above and beyond to help you through all your obstacles. Get in touch with me today to schedule an appointment or to find out more.
