“OUT OF YOUR VULNERABILITIES WILL COME YOUR STRENGTH.”
A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
PERSONALIZED ATTENTION FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS
I can offer you professional assistance to resolve problematic issues you are currently facing, or to achieve other goals related to your emotional and psychological wellbeing. With nearly 20 years of experience in this field, I am highly experienced and professionally trained in the latest evidence-based practices, so please get in touch if you are struggling right now.
Attending therapy can be an incredibly daunting prospect. If you have never been to counselling, you may question what this means about you as an individual.
Many who attend for the first time are skeptical, and often feel a sense of internalised stigma...and may ask themselves questions such as: "Do I really need to be here?" "Shouldn't I be able to handle this myself?" "If I go, does that mean I am crazy?" These are perfectly normal questions and doubts. I can safely say that people who attend counselling are not in any way "broken" nor do they need "fixing". Therapy is a way of healing, growing, and working through life's difficult obstacles with the assistance of a professional.
Therapy is an individualised process with each client, as each client brings their own goals and issues to the table; there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach. Contact me for further information about how I can help you.
HERE FOR YOU
I’m Beth Castieau and I am here to assist you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I truly care about your well-being and guarantee all of my clients receive psychological services catered to their individual needs.
Since 2000, I have provided a number of specialised mental health services to clients overcoming traumatic life experiences in a wide range of settings. As an experienced clinician, I realise that there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach to helping individuals heal, grow, and make positive changes. I continue to focus on improving my practice skills and knowledge through professional development activities.
I am informed by several evidence-based approaches in my clinical practice, delivering psychological counselling to individuals, couples, family systems, or groups. These include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Mindfulness; Emotion-Focused Therapy; Solution Focused Therapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT); Motivational Interviewing and other behavioural interventions to assist the process of change.
Most recently I have been trained and continue to develop my skills in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) by not only attendance at training, but ongoing consultancy with world-renowned experts and practitioners to assist me to master this approach and by 2020, become accredited with EMDRAA.
At Castieau Consultancy, your well-being is my number one priority, and I go above and beyond to help you through all your obstacles. Get in touch with me today to schedule an appointment or find out more.

Accredited Mental Health Social Workers are registered providers with Medicare Australia.
They have been assessed on behalf of the Commonwealth Government by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as having specialist mental health expertise.
An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) is eligible to provide services through the Commonwealth-funded Better Access to Mental Health Care and Chronic Diseases Management (Enhanced Primary Care) programs.
Social workers are also providers under the Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) program.
Accredited Mental Health Social Workers have a breadth of experience in assessing and treating people who have mental health disorders, for example people with:
Depression and other mood disorders
They help individuals to resolve presenting psychological problems, the associated social and other environmental problems, and improve their quality of life. This may involve family as well as individual counselling, and group therapy. Social workers recognise the broader implications of an individual having a mental illness and the impact on friends, family, work and education.
Like other allied health professionals, such as psychologists, Accredited Mental Health Social Workers use a range of interventions in helping people with mental health disorders, including the following focussed psychological strategies:
Cognitive behavioural therapy
Psycho-education (including Motivational Interviewing)
